  • The influence of body fluids on behaviour of stainless steels
Kocijan, Aleksandra ; Kek-Merl, Darja ; Jenko, Monika, metalurginja
The study of oxide layers grown on different stainless steels in simulated body solutions is presented. The study conducted by using different electrochemical techniques in order to establish the ... corrosion stability of the selected materials. The results of the potentiodynamic measurements showedthe difference between the investigated stainless steels considering their chemical composition as well as the influence of tested media composition in which the measurements were performed. The cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were used to explain the electrochemical processes taking place on the surface of the investigated materials. The oxide layers formed by electrochemical oxidation at different oxidation potentials on stainless steels were studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, their compositions were analysed as a function of depth.
