  • Interacitons in coatings formulations. Part 3, The influence of hyperdispesant systems on the formulation and properties of selected pigment paste assemblies
Guthrie, James T... ; Kunaver, Matjaž
The studies described herein relate to the nature of assembled paste concentrates containing rutile ▫$TiO_2 in each of two liquids, namely methoxyprpyl acetate and toluene. The approach taken ivolved ... the use of inverse gas chromatography, adsorption behaviour, size exclusion chromatography and thermal analysis. Stability criteria were established for pastes which had been let-down in various media. In general, EFKA 401 dispersant was found to be the more generally sympatheticand forgiving dispersing agent. However, its behaviour is not simple. This was shown through brakdown patterns associated with the dispersant during formulation.$▫
