  • Economics of innovation and modern theories of the firm
    Rebernik, Miroslav ; Močnik, Dijana
ǂThe ǂpast decade has witnessed a renewal of conceptual, theoretical and empirical interest in the study of economic organization. After decades of neglect, "the theory of the firm" has entered the ... theoretical scene to such an extent that the field seems to be one of the most rapidly expanding in economies. For the enterprise to be able to cope with the growing complexity in its environment, quite a number of economic approaches evolved, which revised the neoclassical neglect of creativity and innovativeness of both the individual and the group. The variety of business economies had to be increased to be able to control the increased variety in the companies and in their environment. Although, for the time being, not one of these new theories is capable of contributing a holistic view of the enterprise, they are more suitable for investigation of innovation and creativity than traditional business economies.
