  • Kdo je terorist?
    Badalič, Vasja
The article analyzes how the Bush and Obama administration introduced new definitions of war and the status of terrorists in the post- 9/11 era in order to establish a politico-juridical framework ... that maximizes the precariousness of terrorists' lives - i.e. lives that can be exterminated. Author shows how these redefinitions of war and the status of terrorists provide a politico-juridical framework to conduct drone warfare. The article is divided in four parts. First, author shows how the new definition of war broadened the geographical and temporal coordinates of war by determining as war zones all places where terrorists are located. Second, he analyzes the new definition of imminent threat grounded on the presupposition that all terrorists represent, at any given time, an imminent threat to the V.S. Third, author shows how a new definition of terrorist s as military-aged men who find themselves in the vicinity of terrorists blurs the distinction between terrorists and civilians. Fourth, author focuses on how drone analysts create ʺterroristsʺ by tendentiously interpreting unclear image s provided by the drones' cameras.
