Application of CAD/CAM systems in modern fabric design and production

In this paper the CAD systems TWEED (IAM, germany) and ARAHWeave, Slovenia), which are installed at the Laboratory for Construction of Textiles, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of ...Maribor, are presented. For the mentioned CAD systems the hardware configuration, the software functions, the database and fabric sample simulation, as well as the output data, are described. Based on our experiences with both systems, we have drawn out the advantages regarding the computer aided fabric construction and patterning.
