    Varicella is an acute, contagious exanthematous disease which occurs most often in childhood. Although varicella is thought to be a mild disease, serious complications can occur, particulary in ... neonates, adults and immunocompromised hosts. In the article the most common variceila complications are described. Results of retrospective study of patients with varicella complications, who were admitted to the Department of Infectious Diseases, University Medical Centre Ljubljana in the four year period (betweenJanuary 1, 1995 and December 31, 1998), are presented.
