  • Mesto moksifloksacina pri izbiri antibiotičnega zdravljenja = The role of moxifloxacin in the selection of antibiotic
    Muzlovič, Igor
Moxifloxacin is a new 8-methoxyquinolone that has been shown to have a wide range of activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as against anaerobes and atypical microorganisms ... that can cause respiratory tractinfections. It is also effective against both betalactam- and macrolide-resistant organisms and very rarely induces resistance under experimental conditions. The bactericidal effect of moxifloxacin is greater than that of other antibiotics (quinolones, betalactams and macrolides). It isalso effective against both intracellular and extracellular microorganisms. Its value in comparison with other antibiotics is high, and its rapid clinicaland bacteriological efficacy provides a basis for its use in the treatment of respiratory tract infections.
