    The most important application of hard metal (tunsten carbides, Co matrix) is the production of machining tools. Tools are made by connecting hard metal blades to a steel support by different brazing ... technologies. High temperature vacuum brazing of hard metals on structural steel has advantages ahead of flame brazing. The joining technology results in defect free joints and high bonding strength. The presented work reports on microstructural characteristics of high temperature vacuum brazed joints between hard metal and structural steel. Copper based powder alloy was applied as a filler metal.
