    The origin of organized crime dates back to the 19th century. When people mainly living in villages started developing small criminal networks. Gradually, with the advancement of technology and ... emergence of globalization, the organized crime became a serious threat to the security of almost every state in the world.1 This paper provides a depth analysis on the concept of organized crime in the Kosovo, a state that only declared its independence on 17th of February 2008.2As a country currently in the transition process due to the war consequences suffered in 1999 in relation with Serbia. Since that time, the phenomenon of organized crime appeared and increased throughout the years by groups of individuals who saw the shackled situation as an opportunity to turn it into their advantage.
