    Local void fraction (LVF), detected by resistivity probes, was developed and explored in an aerated stirred tank operating with a single and dual Rushton turbines, respectively. Gas phase interface ... detection was applied to gas filled cavity structures recognition, e.g. vortex-clinging, appearance of first large cavity, appearance of two large cavities, small `3-3` structure, large `3-3` structure and ragged structure. These structures were classified based on interfacial structure characteristics into the flow regime map. Presented are the margins, of ane- and two large cavity structures, as well as the margin of large `3-3` structure of individual turbine by using the dual impeller, which can not be found in the literature. The spatial distribution of the gas phase in an aerated stirred tank is extremely inhomogeneous. LVF was measured at 190 nodes of a high resolution grid in the vertical half-section of vessel, when single turbine was used, and at 250 nodes by dualimpeller, respectively. Spatial gas phase distribution patterns which datamatrixes can be used as input parameters and\or verification of computational fluid dynamics prediction are presented for different hydrodynamic regimes. Good agreement between the volume integrated values of LVF and the measured global hold-ups proves the reliability of results based on local measurements. An experimental method which enables recognition of loading\flooding transition was developed. Results are in good agreement with predicted values for single impeller from literature, where criterion by dual impellers are not known. Marginal hydrodynamic regimes were presented for the flooded impeller in the case of dual impeller used.
