  • Safety of a post-weld heat treated and repaired bifurcation [Elektronski vir]

    Residual stresses were measured on a huge welded penstock bifurcation. The purpose was to find the best and the most reliable technical and technological solutions in the production of such hydro ... power plant components. The measurement was performed in the as-welded condition of the component, i.e. before post-weld heat treatement as well as in the stress relieved condition , i.e. after the post weld-heat treatment. It has been proved that some details on the component were repaired after post-weld heat treatment by welding. The intervention has renewed the residual stresses, which lowered the safety of the welded penstock component.
