  • Optimizing small batch production by combining various rapid prototyping procedures

    Forced by the incrasing competition and global economy, manufacturers have to face the challenge of delivering new customized products more and more quickly to be able to meet the customer`s demands. ... During new product development, the production of several prototypes and test products is often necessary. Various technologies, collectively known as Rapid Manufacturing - RM, have been developed to shorten the design and production cycle, and to rationalize many traditional manufacturing procedures. The paper presents the possibility of combining various RM technolodies in the production of small batch series.
