  • Critical success factors (CSFs) for enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution implementation-what does matter in different phases of implementation
Sternad Zabukovšek, Simona ; Bobek, Samo, 1958- ; Lampret, Ana
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution implementation is a complex process, that requires substantial resources and efforts, involving considerable risks reflected in the time, scope, and cost ... of project implementation, and yet the results are very uncertain. The ERP hype has reached large organizations, as well as SMEs, so we have examined the strategies, methods and critical success factors in ERP implementation. Based on a literature review a model has been developed. The results of our survey in Slovenia have shown that organizations have to pay attention to different critical success factors in different phases of the implementation process. Survey results also have confirmed that different rankings of CSFs emerge in ASAP and Microsoft Dynamics Sure Step methodologies, and that some CSFs differ in importance across phases of an ERP implementation project depending on methodology used. Moreover, there are differences in implementation process between SMEs and large companies. Case studies have shown similar results. Recommendations for future implementations and comments of our findings can be found in conclusion.
