  • Dati cronologici dal sito di Palu di Livenza
Vitri, Serena ; Martinelli, Nicoletta ; Čufar, Katarina
Between 1987 and 1997, eleven 14C dates were made from samples collected in the Palu di Livenza basin (Northeastern Italy); eight og them are related to the Neolithic pile dwelling. The dates nr. ... 1-6, coming from the investigated area in the core of the Neolithic settlement, between 5720 and 4880 BP, seem to speak about a long life village with different building phases. The authors describe three different types of wooden structures found in the pile dwelling of Palu during the research carried out between 1983 and 1994. On the basis of dendrochronological investigations and 14C dating they should belong to different phases, ascribed to Early and Late Neolithic. Another 14C date confirms that the village lasted till Eneolithic. Tree-ring analysis allowed to reconstruct the plan of a building (structtura 1) related to the third type of wooden structure. Through teleconnections with dendrochronological series coming from the Ljubljana Moor in Slovenia it was possible to date this building in Palu to the first part of the Millenium cal BC and to cross-date it with the site of Hočevarica.
