Koražija, Maja ; Mumel, Damijan ; Šarotar Žižek, Simona
Nowadays, the majority of the developed world is in the post-materialistic period in which not only general needs of humans but also the needs of them in the workplace are changing. Since jobs have ... been mostly transformed from routine to creative ones in which the main component is the human mind, its ability and competence, we are talking about the higher-order needs. To satisfy these types of needs, we need a leadership which is not based on profit but on values. This type of a leader has not only a high level of cognitive intelligence but also has a high degree of emotional and spiritual intelligence. In the paper, we constructed a theoretical model describing the relationship between spiritual intelligence and satisfaction in the workplace of leaders and employees. In doing so, we made a reference to small and medium enterprises. We examined the connection between leadersʹ spiritual intelligence and employeesʹ satisfaction in the workplace, and also between employeesʹ spiritual intelligence and leadersʹ satisfaction in the workplace. After reviewing recent studies in this research area, we believe this will fill the gap in the literature.
