    Krajnčan, Mitja ; Frangež, Katja
Covid-19 caused changes in the way of schooling, where teachers and children, as well as everyone else however connected to the education process (parents, grandparents, other (professional) school ... workers and others) have tackled numerous challenges and problems, were forced to change the stale of life, daily routines and adapt to the given situation. The article researched which problems the teachers and additional professional assistance providers had to face, how the measures to contain the spread of the epidemic which interfered with the school field, influenced and affected elementary school children of majority schools, what influence they had on the vulnerable groups of children who already have various deficits, obstacles or disorders, and how effective was distance learning compared to lessons at school. In addition, we wanted to know how the work of teachers and providers of additional professional assistance changed as a consequence of the measures, and what were the resulting changes in the implementation and effectiveness of additional professional assistance sessions for children with special needs. We limited our research to the period between March 2020 and June 2021, which coincides with the time of two declared and later cancelled epidemics. We found that in the world of rapid changes, a great amount of flexibility and empathy is necessary to be able to cope with all the tasks we once used to perform almost routinely. We concluded that the Covid-19 epidemic affected everyone, especially vulnerable groups of children.
