    Molan, Marija ; Molan, Gregor
Maintenance activities in the area of ionizing radiation during outage or during unplanned shut down demand workers adequate level of fitness for duty. Workers must able to perform demanded task in ... limited time in unfriendly working environment. Only selected and well trained workers are able to perform such a task. Special demands for maintenance workers are also in otherindustries (thermal plants, chemical and pharmacy plamts). For this purpose on the results of analyses of work place demands the special QA program for the area of human recourses have been developed for the permanent contractor in NPP Krško. First activities in this area were started 10 years ago. After 10 years of improvements and modification of program the complete QA procedure with all-important activities has been defined. The most important results of our work are: precisely, defined selection criteria for recruitment of new workers (age, basic education, special abilities, personality, special skills, health status, social status, demanded level of fitness for duty), on site specific training (group work, training for specialtasks, use of specialized tools and equipment), team building (establishing of special small groups specialized for particular activities), employee assistant program (support to workers in solving problems), workers follow up (periodical health cheeks and estimation), adapted system of workerssalaries. As results, we have a specialized well-trained group of about30 workers able to work in special working environments. They are very effective and able to persist at work also in prolonged times. Interest for our procedure and program are also in other industries with similar working condition. Adequate workers are searched for maintenance of towers in the thermal plant for outage maintenance in chemical plant and in maintenance of bridges in roads program.
