    Mass media, both traditional and especially online media influence development of society and its values. Young people are labelled by the influence of mass media and the values that the media shapes ... in the social space. Dynamic changes in the environment, technological, political, economic and social, also mark media at local, national and global level. These changesare reflected in media content, which reflects and shapes our social environment. The study deals with questions what is the role of media in shaping the values of young people. What could their role in a wider social space be and how the media implement public interest in a relation to compliance with youth as an important target audience? Technological changes are forcing to the implementation of various media platforms, but in its operations often overlook the public interest and concern for the public good. The paper deals with the question of the need for carrying out public interest in all media and credibility, which remains a key paradigm in the perception of the media. The basic thesis of the article is that the economic and public interest could be complementary, since the credibility of media content is a value, which also contributes to economic efficiency. Consideration of youth as ambitious objectives of the public and strengthening of social values constitute represents the implementation of the special mission of social, and it also does not exclude active participation in the market and economic performance.
