  • Professional competence of kindergarten teachers

    The following article presents professional competence of kindergarten teachers. The analysis is based on European documents regarding professional competence of teachers and competence, based on ... analysis conducted on a sample of students, graduates and teachers of Faculty of Education University in Ljubljana. Empirical section presents a study of how the teachers of kindergarten children, with years of practical experience, evaluate the importance of individual competences in the field of kindergarten education, which are important for autonomy of kindergarten children in praxis. Based on the results of the study we conclude that the established competences belong in the fields of professionalism, communication, perception and cooperation and the field of relationships towards own praxis. We established that several problems occur in the process of enforcing professional competence of teachers in their relationship with parents and co-workers, therefore in the future it is important to put more attention to exchange of opinions and cooperation between teacher s themselves and other professional workers in the kindergarten.
