  • Damage based reliability prediction of dynamically loaded components [Elektronski vir]

    For reliability prediction the well-established stress-strength approach is applied, which is based on stress and strength Probability Density Function (PDF). Stress and strength, which are ... considered in widest sense, are referred to accumulated fatigue damage and accumulated critical damage representing failure, respectively. For the damage calculation, the Palmgren-Miner linear accumulation damage rule is used. Reliability is assessed for any size of the load spectrum in all nodes of the finite element model of the component without the use of more time-consuming Monte Carlo simulations. Monte Carlo simulations are used only to verify the presented procedure.
