  • Evolutionary performance optimization of a universal motor

    In this paper, we are going to present the optimization of an industrial application using the genetic algorithm GA to reduce the iron and the copper losses in a universal motor for home appliances ... with constrains on the rotor'sand the stator's geometrics. The problem is a non-linear optimization problem with respect to geometrical as well as other operational characteristics. The GA is a stochastic cprocess, which attempts to find an optimal solution for the problem using an iterative improvement method, which exploits historical information to speculate on new problem solution with expected improved performance. The approach is different from traditional optimization techniques. However, it has been proved as a simple and efficient method for solving our design problem.
