  • Possibilities for media education in kindergarten

    The contribution thematizes the topical question of media education in kindergarten, which starts by encouraging the development of a positive attitude towards books and consequently reading literacy ... of pre-school children. The first part deals with theoretical baselines, the second part is a case study (42 children, from 3 to 6 years old are included and 47 parents, from 26 to 47 years old) which focuses on media education in kindergarten and especially on encouraging children's positive attitude to written media, above all, books. Regarding the data about the books that were read in a week, we estimate that parents as non-professional mediators between a book and children, totally perform the role of encouraging reading habits and developing children's interest for a book and thus take the leading role in media literacy education of pre-school children.
