  • Co-creation of the assistance procedure in residential care from the perspective of children/youth

    The article deals with the participatory action of individuals – through the prism of co-creation of the assistance procedure in residential care from the perspective of children/youth – which ... represents a special conceptual challenge in the theory and practice of such engagement. We present part of the results of a quantitative study that included 231 children/youths from 9 residential treatment institutions in Slovenia, which provide education for children/youth with emotional and behavioural difficulties and/or disorders. The results show that the participation of children/youth is greater in housing groups than in the traditional forms of residential treatment institutions and indicate the components of the assistance procedure that are crucial in co-creating successful socio-pedagogical assistance or treatment.
