    The article presents the theoretical background of the concept of social exclusion, which is linked to aspects of poverty. The selected population that constitutes the subject of our research is ... defined in more detail; children with emotional and behavioural disorders. A qualitative study was carried out, using semi-structured interviews to collect data. The article presents education staff perspectives on the social exclusion of students with emotional and behavioural problems at a selected primary school. The results of the qualitative research show that the interviewed education staff take preventive action and identify students who are at risk of social exclusion in a timely manner. They provide them with opportunities to participate in different informal activities and support them in resolving conflicts and problems.
