  • Analiza živčno-žilne sklopitve pri bolnikih z migreno = Analysis of neurovascular coupling in migraneours
    Zaletel, Marjan, 1963-
Background. According to recent data it is not clear whether neurovascular coupling is disturbed in migraneours during headache free period. The aim of our study was to establish whether the ... relationship between visually evoked cerebral blood flow responses (VEFR) and visual evoked potentials (VEP) is changed in migraneours during headache free period. Methods. The records were made from 30 healthy volunteers and 30 migraine patients. The mean arterial velocity in the left middle cerebral artery and the mean arterial velocity in rightposterior cerebral artery were monitored by using transcranial Doppler ultrasound. The VEP were recorded from occipital leads. Neuronal activity was changed by changing visual contrast. Results. We found that significant and moderate relationship between the vEP and the VEFR (r = 0. 66; p < 0. 01) in healthy subjects and in migraneours as well (r = 0.63; p < 0.01). The difference between the regression slopes of the healthy subjects (b = 0.55) and the patients with migraine (b = 0.88) was significant (p = 0. 04). Conclusions. We concluded that neurovascular coupling in migraneours during headache free period is more active than in healthy subjects.
