  • Finite element analysis of model shear tests

    The possibility of using homogenized approach in modelling shear walls with and without openings was investigated. By using 3D homogenization method which were developed at the University of Swansea ... we made effort to test its ultimate options in modelling different crack patterns of single-wythe unreinforced masonry (URM) shear walls made from solid brick. The main scope of our investigation was to test, and which should be used for the modelling of our future experimental work on URM shear walls. In order to compare our numerical investigations, experimental as well as numerical work of other authors were used.
