  • Development of the tool system data base

    The paper presents the development of the tool system data base. The approach used includes four development steps:requirements identification, structured analysis, data modeling and implementation, ... which are explained in the detail.The data base is implemented in the relational data base system and is a part of the integrated data & knowledge base for CAD/CAPP/CAM/(LAKOS-DKBASE). Its implementation should result in more efficient and reliable operating of the integrated manufacturing system, as well as in better tool utilization, reduction of tool diversity and redundancyand decrease of capital tied-in tools.
