    Low patient adherence to treatment, which is indicated by ignoring medical advice, represents an important problem in qualitative management of patients with chronic diseases. In order to encourage ... patients to adhere to treatment, several factors have to be considered, including the patient's attitude, social environment, personal characteristics and degree of knowledge about thetreatment. The doctor-patient relationship and good communication are also very important. Interventions to improve patient compliance are directed towards better education, behavioral therapy and the patient's emotional responses, as well as towards improving the communication skills of health care providers. Combined methods and interdisciplinary approach are advised.
