    Within the SENERGY NETS project funded by the EU Horizon platform, the objective is to develop a suite of tools and platforms aimed at optimizing the planning of district heating and cooling systems, ... as well as distribution grids, with sector coupling considerations. These tools will also facilitate the provision of flexibility services to distribution and transmission system operators. Given that heat pumps are becoming crucial components of the fourth and fifth generations of district energy systems, it is essential to incorporate them into district energy modeling tools. The SENERGY NETS project focuses on upgrading and extending the open-source tools pandapipes and pandaprosumer, developed by the Fraunhofer Institute Kassel and the University of Kassel. In this work, we will present the development and integration of the heat pump model into the modeling tool. The application of the model is demonstrated through a simplified example.
