    From the beginning of the Slovene ethnic revival, ethnic relations between theSlovenian nation and the neighbouring nations were "contaminated" with ethnic tensions. Competition for exclusive ... possessions of some ingredients of ethnic individuality (in the first place, of territory) marked the inter-ethnic relations with disjunctive processes. Without efficient organization (and, in the political reflection of the intelligentsia, this wasrecognized in the State) members of the Slovenian fledgling nation lacked crucial institutions to protect their ethnic diversity. The main hypothesis isthat we probably find ourselves at the beginning of the building-up process,named by sociologists the process of adaptation and developed culturalpluralism. Processes of cultural pluralism are intertwined with processes of more developed adaptation. What is all about is the preservation and development of ethnic characteristics. Processes of cultural pluralism belong among conjunctive processes, which foster participation and self-management of ethnic communities.
