  • Linguistic analysis of sound recordings as a method of solidifying mother tongue proficiency [Elektronski vir]

    The paper presents an example of higher pedagogical practice carried out within the optional subject Radio and Radio Programmes (second year of MA students of Media Communication, Faculty of ... Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor). The students carried out their own radio broadcasts, each app. 27 minutes long, on a weekly basis. The empirical section consists of the analyses of phonetic features, namely Nonstandard urban variety elements, which highly influence students' radio speech. The purpose of the analysis is to encourage students to develop greater awareness of the importance of their mother tongue for their future career as on-air personalities (radio announcers, news reporters, etc.).
