  • The system of electronic tags for equipment control

    The paper presents results of a smart card pilot project. The implementation of an automatic electronic system for monitoring and inspection of equipment maintenance had goals such as better control ... and data automation for equipment re-sellers, owners services and inspection authority. The solution was based on implementation of ultra-thin radio frequencies tags for equipment identific (RFID) and "professional" smart cards for users of the system. The applications programmers interface (API) was designed for easy integration with PC database application software. A pilot application was developed using a programmable handheld terminal with ISO 7816 smart card interface and a PC with MS-Windows based rapid application development (RAD) tool.
