  • A new approach in building city information system

    The development of the information system of the city Maribor is presented in the paper. The information system consists of MHTML documents, programs for their interpretation and database containing ... information gathered from information system users. MHTML language is an extension of HTML language that enables definition of abstract HTML documents (MHTML documents). Programs of the information system interpret these abstract documents and with the data from database they generate HTML documents. With use of MHTML language an efficient design of information system is possible. Variables and constants representing links pictures together with headers and footers enable uniform representation of the HTML documents. At the same time variables and constants make the changes of the documents' appearance very easy. The MHTML language also supports queries on the database and conversion of the data to different code standards. Database enables that the generated HTML documents are up to date.
