    Ovulation was induced in 51 menstrual cycles: in 16 cases with clomiphene in 19 with clomiphene and HCG, and in 16 with clomiphene, HMG and HCG. Concentrations of LH, prolactin and estradiol 17-beta ... levels in serum were measured by a radioimmunoassay technique. The increase in the size and number of follicles was determined daily by ultrasound. We favour stimulation of ovulation with clomiphene and HCG, and with clomiphene, HMG and HCG, where the dosage and treatment modality are adapted to each individual and the aspiration of the ovum is easier to plan. There were differences in serum prolactin concentrations between the subjects receiving clomiphene and those treated with clomiphene and HCG. On stimulation with clomiphene and HCG prolactin levels were found to increase significantly on the day of the LH peak, when a laparoscopy was performed, and decrease significantly immediately afterwards.
