    Each human action depends on a certain level of variability. Difficult gymnastics elements require high level of safeness, which can be defined also with very low variablitiy of certain performance. ... To find out on which degree of variablity and relibility female gymnasts perform we measure their runway characteristics on vault during the World Cup Competition in Maribor in 2006. As each type of vault requires different amount of energy, we analyzed 11 valuts performed twice by gymnasts (N=6). Runway characteristics were measuredwith Optojump, and we measured step length, step frequency and velocity by step, length of runway, final velocity and number of steps. Results are similar to others, new is caluculated reliability of parameters of runway, which is very high but there is still place for improvement.
