  • Integrating e-services in public administration : analysis of EU research projects and development of participants from see region [Elektronski vir]
    Cukjati, Domen ; Todorovski, Ljupčo
Integration of e-services is a process of making several atomic e-services to behave as they were one. Despite the benefits that integrated government e-services would bring to citizens, business ... entities and government itself, there is still a lack of inexpensive and holistic solution for government e-services integration. Governmental integration within the continent is one of the EU top priorities, which reflects in the fact that the topic of government e-services integration was given a high priority in the fifth and sixth framework program, the main financial tools through which the EU supported research and development activities from 1998 to 2006. In the paper,we analyse and compare 11 EU-co-funded research projects that address the integration of government eservices. We perform comparative analysis alongdifferent dimensions, such as integration approaches developed, connectedness between projects, participation of partners from the SEE region, and project budgets. The review shows that researchers developed a variety of different approaches which corresponds to the importance of the topic. However, analysis of the approaches reveals that most of the approachesare still under development or available as prototypes. Furthermore, there is a significant difference between involvements of different SEE countries in the projects reviewed, Greece being a champion among them.
