    In the article advantages offered by object databases during all phases of software development are presented. Areas where object databases are superior in comparison to traditional databases are ... indicated and some areas where co-operation between object and traditional databases is necessary and inevitable are discussed. In the article it is shown that only use of object databases allows full exploitation of object technology. Based on our experience with CASE tool named Paradigm Plus and object databases discussion about possibilities of using only one consistent conceptual model across all phases of development are presented. The impact of object databases on software process improvement are indicated.
