  • Morfološki znaki heterostilje in končne rasti pri navadni ajdi (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) v Sloveniji
    Kreft, Ivan, 1941-
The aim of present investigation was to establish the possible variation of the traits of flower dimorphism (heterostily) and of the indeterminate/determinate growth habit. In studied common ... buckwheat samples from Slovenia it was no significant deviation from the expected pin/thrum ratio of plants (1:1). However, after selfing, in the next generation, few sterile plants with homomorphic flowers were detected. Common buckwheat samples from Slovenia are an interesting source of the gene for the determinate growth habit. Locus for the determinte growth habit from the original Slovenian source (Vrhtrebnje) of the gene for the determinate growth habit is, despite somewhat different phenotypic appearance, not independently inherited in comparison to the respective locus in cv. Sumchanka of Russian origin. In Ljubljana, the expression of this trait of the gene from Vrhtrebnje is typical, however in Koper (with warm climate and frequent draughtstress) the expression of the determinate growth habit failed to appear in several plants. The influence of the interaction of genetic and environmental factors is a possible explanation.
