  • Methods for evaluation of dynamic loads of seams

    The quality of a produced garment depends on the quality of manufacture and also on the quality of produced seams, i.e. on their behaviour under dynamic loading and relaxation. The paper presents a ... measuring method using a so-called Omega bridge where the loading of a garment, reflected as fabric extension, is transferred to the deformation of the Omega bridge with strain gagues, thus enabling the evaluation of the actual garment loading. The strain gauges, attached to the bridge, detect every dimension change, which is a measure for material extension during the use of the garment.
