  • A View of agronomists on the EU environmental measures for a field level to be taken after 2013
Bavec, Franc ; Stipešević, Bojan ; Bavec, Martina
European common agricultural policy (CAP) will support the new structure 'Greening the CAP' as a direct payments and agri-environmental payments in two pillars. For future EU support after 2013 ... different measures are proposed like 7 % of obligatory ecological focus areas on farms (margins as a part existing field land area) and the same subsides for field crops and grassland, etc. are not welcome measures for situation in Slovenia, and the similar countries, because of small land pilots (average is 0,30 ha) and dominated grassland area (57 % arable land in Slovenia). When we take into account also percent of forest (72 % of agricultural area) it is a clear that proposed EU measures will have a lot of negative effects on agriculture and oncultural landscape, and national independence on local food supply. Much more care must to be given to a field crop biodiversity and intercrops, which are lacking measures for the 'greenest' agriculture.
