    The requirements of the 2004/40/EC directive about the occupational exposure to the electromagnetic fields have to be transferred to the national legislations at least in year 2012. Most of the ... employers will be minimally influenced by this, but not in all sectors. One of them is broadcasting, where high exposures are present close to the broadcasting towers. Therefore three broadcasting locations (Nanos, Tinjan and Beli Križ) were subject to the analysis of the occupational exposure. The results show that on the broadcasting towers high exposures are present, exceeding the action values defined in directive 2004/40/EC for up to 100 times. If not directly in front of the antennas, the highest exposures are present near FM antennas, whereas in front of the antennas, the highest exposures are present near UHF antennas as they have higher front to back ratio and narrower radiation pattern compared to FM antennas.
