    In the last few years a lot of work has been done on the developmental research project "Recultivation of abadoned hilly karst's land with environmental friendly technologies for breeding and health ... protection of animals" which takes place on the mountain Vremščica above Divača. This project is financially supported by The Ministry of Agriculture , Forestry and Food, and The Ministry of Science and Technology as is a constitutive part of research program "Earth". Efforts of different professions: agronomy, animal husbandry, forestry, veterinary medicine, food technology and economy, are linked to acieve the aims of this project. Developmental Research Center Vremščica, together with Pasture Community Vremščica II, is located on approximately 400 hectares of hilly pastures, on the altitude of 800 to 1000 m. Basic aims of this centre are recultivation and prevention of contiuous overgrowing of the land, improvement of the grass sward, formation of silvopastoral systems, usage of autochthonous breeds as a tool for recultivation, testing of various modes for the exploitation of the land, analysis of physiological, genetic and production parameters in animals, improvement of economical efficiency of animal breeding and production, and establishment of economically acceptable and effective health programs for animals.
