  • Influence of sediments on water level in the apex of the Moste resevoir

    Moste reservoir oh the HPP Moste is situated in the north-western party of Slovenia (Upper Carniola). It was constructed in 1952 as the first plant in the chain of HPP's on the Sava river. The ... overall volume of the reservoir is 7 hm3 at a maximum water elevation (524.75 m a.s.). As soon as the arch dam was built, problems with sediment settling appeared. As a countermeasure, sediment retention basin Javornik was built in 1953. During 1970 it was filled. Upstream of it, a sediment retention basin at Hrušica was built with the similar success
