  • Sustainable decisions in selection of heating systems

    The sustainable decisions incorporates the area of energy, air, water, waste, human health, environment, flora and fauna as well as social and cultural area. The balancing of the importance of all ... these areas and the determination of criteria varies from case to case. Basic method for assessment a whole product's impact on environment and human is Life-Cycle Analysis (LCA). With this methodology we are able to analyse the environmental impact of materials in different life stages, from material production, processing and use to disposal / recycling. To overcome some problems in the LCA method, an alternative method, the so-called Eco-indicator method has been proposed. Since it is based on weighting method, only a single score for the total environmental impact is calculated. The application of this method for the sustainable decisions is presented. The goal was to compare the life cycle assessment of different systems for space heating.
