  • Some empirical insights into sociocultural differences in management practices : the case of Denmark and Slovenia
    Cotič, Aprila ; Bavec, Cene
The paper presents field research on differences in managers behavior in two EU countries: Denmark and Slovenia. The theoretical foundation of the research is based on cultural dimensions proposed by ... Hofstede, Hall, House and the GLOBE Research Program. In the qualitative part of the study we combined results from some other studies with our semi structured individual interviews and confirmed the impact of national cultures on leadership and management perception and behavior. In the quantitative research based on the survey among managers we evaluated five hypotheses dealing with manager-employee relation, work environment (motivation and trust) and managers priorities in times of crisis. The research confirmed many significant differences between Danish and Slovenian management practices and values, but also many similarities.
