  • Using object technology for knowledge management in fabric production

    The technological aspects of fabric production are rarely supported by existing information systems although technological knowledge is cruical in the production of high quality products at ... competitive costs. This paper presents some software systems that overcome to an extent this deficiency and lack of information support. Experience confirms that object technology is a key and enabling factor for progress in providing software support for production processes. This paper discusses and presents some of advantages of multitiered, GUI, Web enabled object applications that might assist in knowledge management for the production of yarns and fabrics. The paper also emphasizes the importance of an initiative to provide standard business object frameworks for these domains.
