  • Določitev temperaturne odvisnosti rekombinacijskega koeficienta = Temperature dependence of the recombination coefficient
    Mozetič, Miran, 1961-
Catalytic probes are often used for determination of concentration of radicals in thermodynamically non-equilibrum state of gas at room temperature. The advantages of the method include a simple ... construction, good accuracy and excellent repeatability of results. The method is based on catalytic recombination of radicals on metal surfaces. At interpretation of results it is often assumed that the recombination coefficient does not depend on temperature, what in general is not true. Possible temperature dependence of the recombination coefficient should be determined for a material the probe is made of. A method for doing so is described in the paper. It is based on measuring the time dependence of the probe temperature exposed to gas with a high concentration of radicals. It is shown that in the first approximation, the recombination coefficient depends on the difference of time derivates of a probe temperature between heating and cooling phases at a fixed temperature. The method was used for determination of the temperature dependence of the recombination coefficinet for the reaction 2H -- H[sub]2 on the surface of nickel and inconel.
