    My thesis consists of two parts, the theoretical and the practical part. The topic of my thesis is sports terminology; to be more specific, it refers to sports sailing. This is why I have tried to ... include all the information a common user might need though it can also prove to be a useful tool for a semi-professional user or any professional who might find my glossary interesting as a revision of his/her previous knowledge. Therefore, I have divided my thesis in two parts; one part is a review of theoretical terms connected to the creation of lexicographical works, while the other theoretical part is a review of general information on sports sailing. The first part of the theoretical introduction refers to the definition of sailingin monolingual dictionaries relevant to my research: Slovene, Spanish and English printed dictionaries and their on-line versions. That part consists of the description and analysis of the terms essential to my work: terminology, lexicography, etc. I have also included a chapter dedicated to the analysis of different types of dictionaries and the description of external properties of a glossary. Before becoming involved in glossary creation I had to define precisely the type of the user of my glossary and other multilingual glossaries. I had to define the thesis objective and to what extent I should develop the practical part and the organization of my glossary. In the second theoretical part I give all the necessary information on the term sailing/sports sailing, the essential parts of a sailing boat, description of the crew, the equipment and some general information on yacht racing. The practical part begins with a brief introduction for efficient use of the glossary. The glossary itself has been organized by topics and later also alphabetically inside each ideographic group. In this way the user first looks for the topic/specific field and inside each field the terms are found and organized alphabetically for quick and efficient search. I have created a fully active glossary; the original form is the Slovene term followed by the Spanish and the English terms. I have put quite some effort in finding good visual support in order to include graphic schemes where I found it necessary for a better understanding of recently acquired knowledge.I have created a one-way glossary hence the principal user group are Slovene translators and sportsmen. I hope they will find it useful when renting a sailing boat or a yacht abroad or when they need to translate nautical texts to Spanish or English or to communicate with sportsmen in this field outside the Slovene borders.
