    The study discusses the role of the Slovene literary tradition in the poetry of F. Prešeren. Since the poet's sources were three self-contained contemporary layers, i.e. oral (folk) literature, ... spiritual poetry, and a thinlayer of domestic artistic literature-all these areas of influence are thetopic of the following analysis. The result of this investigation is the finfing that while Prešeren's reception of the folkloric tradition and Manneristic-Baroque creative practices had fewer consequences in terms of ideas and content, there werw many more consequences in technical and formal respects. However, the processes involved were accepted in a way that a particular impulse was allways employed to reveal a possible poetic individuality.
