Prevajanje slovenskih frazemov s področja hrane v italijanščino : diplomska seminarska naloga

The present undergraduate thesis treats translating of Slovenian food-related idioms into Italian and problems that are connected with it. The introduction consists of the explanation of the study of ...phraseology and corpus linguistics with their basic concepts and also deals with the basic techniques of translating this specific phenomenon (idioms) into another language. The main part of the undergraduate thesis shows tables of idioms in Slovene and Italian (in Italian there are other fixed expressions as well) with their meaning and examples of usage in contemporary texts, which were selected from the corpora FidaPLUS and itTenTen. At the end the translations of idioms are divided into three different categories: a) translations with identic idioms, that are directly translatable with the same components, b) translations that are translatable with other idioms, that mean the same, but are composed of different components and c) translations, that are not idioms, but fixed expressions or paraphrases.
